How to Clean a Rusty Toilet Bowl

Water containing high levels of iron causes rusty stains to appear in toilet bowls, sinks and tubs.  Water high in other mineral content can also lead to nasty looking stains.  One would think that bleach would remove these stains, but it can actually make them worse.  CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover is formulated to handle removing these tough stains when other household cleaners won’t do the trick.  And, while tough on stains, CLR is easy on the environment.  

Steps to Clean Toilet Bowl Stains:

• Prepare yourself with a bottle of CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover.
• Protect hands with a pair of Chemical Resistant Nitrile or Disposable Nitrile gloves.
• Turn off the water supply to the toilet.
• Pour 1 cup of CLR into the toilet bowl.
• Allow 2 minutes of time to pass.
• Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush to loosen the soil and stain marks.
• Turn the water supply back on and flush.  
• Repeat process, if necessary, for extra tough stains.
